Responsibilities:
• Supervise and ensure the well-being of the scholars.
• Work with Academic Affairs committee, ARHS staff, and parents, acting as “hub of communication” for activities of the scholars.
• Communicate required repairs and maintenance of the house.
• Attend executive committee meetings and full board meeting to report achievements, needs, and upcoming events.
Compensation:
• A private apartment in the ABC House, including utilities and internet.
• Meals are provided during the academic year.
• Access to Amherst College athletic facilities.
• Downtown location, good public transportation.
Qualifications:
• Experience in education, bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills are desirable.
• Experience with residential life and diverse populations preferred.
Note: The Resident Director(s) may be employed full-time elsewhere while working for the ABC program, provided that such employment does not preclude carrying out the responsibilities listed above.
