The 38th Annual ABC Fall Foliage Walk – October 17, 2009

General Walker Information

The ABC House invites you to be a part of the annual Fall Foliage Walk. Not only is the Fall Foliage Walk our largest fundraiser, but it has become an Amherst tradition. This year will be the 38th event! Please download a Walk poster or print a Walk brochure so that you can start collecting pledges today!

Schedule of Events:

10 AM	Walk Registration Begins at Town Common
10:30 AM	Walk Kick-off
12:00 PM	After Walk Party Begins
12:15 PM-2pm	DJ, BBQ, Kids Activities

Walk Route
The Fall Foliage Walk will start on the Common this year. Registration will be just south of the Farmer's Market. The Walk will head toward Amherst College crossing Rt. 9 at the blinking crosswalk at the intersection of Boltwood Ave. and continuing in front of Converse Hall to cross Rt. 116 at the blinking crosswalk in front of the President's house. The Walk follows the sidewalk on the west side of Rt. 116 south to the Norwottuck Rail Trail (aka the Bike Path) which is entered at Snell St. (there will be signs.)

On the bike path the Walk proceeds east for about a mile and enters the woods (more signs) to continue north along a beautiful ridge where walkers can look out over the changing foliage of the Pelham Hills. You will come back to civilization by the Amherst College tennis courts and continue north along the edge of the campus to Rt. 9 where you walk west (left) up the hill back to the Common for the concert and BBQ.
